Kathmandu. President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal has said that if the capital of the insurance sector can be used for the development of the country, it will make the economy more dynamic. Speaking at the National Insurance Discourse organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, he said that insurance will play a major role in creating capital in the country’s economy.
Stating that all sectors of the economy need to be dynamic for the economy to be dynamic, he informed that insurance capital should be invested in the productive sector. ‘The latest economic situation has shown that the economy will not remain dynamic if there is sufficient liquidity in the banks. For this, all sectors of the economy have an equal contribution. All sectors need to be dynamic. ’ He said.
Chairman Dhakal said that the insurance sector has directly and indirectly created more than 200,000 jobs and that its development and expansion will create more jobs. Similarly, he urged the regulatory body to take initiatives for its improvement, saying that insurance premiums are high and there are complaints about problems in insurance payments.
Chairman Dhakal also suggested that the regulatory body should make the companies responsible themselves rather than micromanaging insurance companies. Stating that it is necessary to expand the reach of insurance, which has reached 44 percent of the total population, Chairman Dhakal emphasized the need to conduct a public awareness campaign about the importance of insurance to increase the scope of insurance.
