Armed Police seize goods worth Rs 210 million in Parsa

Parsa. With the Armed Police Force deployed for border security increasing its activity, the number of seized customs-evading goods has increased dramatically in Parsa. As the Armed Police Force has increased its activity, it has seized more customs-evading goods worth Rs 66.853 crore in the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Radheshyam Dhimal, Commander of the Armed Police Force, Nepal No. 13 Battalion Headquarters, informed that goods worth Rs 212.26 crore imported through customs evasion have been seized in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

‘As the Armed Police Force has increased its activity, the number of illegally imported clothes, electronic goods, hardware, motor parts, food items and groceries has increased,’ he said. ‘The Armed Police Force has also deployed two trained dogs at the Birgunj customs checkpoint and is conducting checks. .’

The Armed Police Force has stated that it has handed over 164.741 million worth of clothes, electronic goods, hardware, motor parts, food items and groceries imported through customs fraud to the Birgunj Customs Office in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Similarly, it has stated that it has handed over 46.85 million worth of goods without invoices to the Revenue Investigation Office in Pathlaiya during the same period.

The Armed Police Force had handed over 47.7 million worth of goods imported through customs fraud to the Birgunj Customs Office in the first six months of the fiscal year 2080/81. During the same six months of the fiscal year 2080/81, it had handed over 98.269 million worth of goods without invoices to the Revenue Investigation Office. Parsa district has an open border area of 107 kilometers with India.
